I'm waking up to ash and dust, I wipe my brow and I sweat my rust

I'm breathing in the chemicals.

I raise my flags, don my clothes

What I believe Imagine Dragons is describing is the state of civil unrest in America and the world today. All over the world we are seeing citizens rebel against their governments or anybody trying to deny them the freedoms that they were given by their creators. “Their Creators”; This expression was specifically written in The Declaration of Independence for a reason. The term acknowledges absolutely no religious belief or puts one religion over another. The term allows the person reading it to determine his or her own belief as to their creation, be it chance or divine intervention. It is our rights as humans and the rights we, humans, all over this planet are now feeling are being taken away and it is our right as free men and women to defend ourselves from our oppressors.

“When, in the course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the laws of nature and of nature's God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.

Time and time again, we have seen these “rebels” topel governments that they decided were unfit to rule. Hell, That's how America started. Civil unrest, turn civil disobedience, turn rebellion and revolution.

In 2011, the Tunisian people rebelled on their government and ousted their leader. Fueled by high unemployment, corruption, political repression and poor living conditions, they forced their hand on those to blame and developed a new constitution. One they felt was in the favor of their best interests.

In Brazil, What started as protests against a rise in public transportation fares, stemming from the citizens growing disappointment of inadequate provision of social services, escalated into protests against high corruption in the government and police brutality against protesters.

The Ukrainian Revolt that started in Kiev when protesters, marching against years of corruption and economic mismanagement were met with violent resistance from the government. The growing unrest lead to the ousting of the then president when he, against public interest, signed a treaty with Russia and not the EU.

Here in America it’s no different, though the government stooge known as the Media has been very careful to never use the actual word “Rebellion” and has opted for using words like “protest”, “ marches” or "riots" , as I sit in the comfort of my home watching footage of these “Peaceful protests” I can assure everybody that these are indeed the start to a rebellion. However, until these demostrations are orginaised, hosted at the right venues and targeted towards right audience with an acutal cause, The participants actions will never be accepted as revolutioners.

I believe Americans, for the most part, have been hitting the snooze button for decades and have been fooled to believe that it’ll soon be their turn to live the good life. The “Hand” allows random commoners to easily make it big from time to time so as to give the illusion that it could happen to anybody. The concept of hard work and proper education has taken a back seat to get rich quick scemes.

Many people in this country have either been distracted or worse convinced that the unrest taking place in America is unwarranted or credit the restlessness to tantrums thrown by the uneducated for unrelated and even foolish rationality like recent use of excessive force by our law enforcement. Though I, like many ,believe that the specific cases that have recently infested our news programs and have sparked riots and debates, such as the Travon Martin and Michael Brown case and even the Eric Garner case have not had the factual backing to justify these acts of violence and civil disobedience, there is a growing amount of blatant abuse of power by both, local and federal law enforcement that do very much justify our growing state of civil unrest.

I believe that the majority of local police officers however are just bystanders or even victims of sorts, attempting to keep order in a land where the people feel as if they have been repeatedly and increasingly abused by those who have been entrusted to run our government. Those law officers are the ones taking the blunt force and rebellious actions of the restless and though I will always separate those officers from those who are truly responsible for being the catalysts for the riots we have been seeing in our country recently, Both, deserving and undeserving will ultimately suffer the same wrath when the fires become uncontrollable and the pots begin to boil over.

I understand that some people who are still asleep will call me an alarmist. These are the people who are either too afraid to accept the reality of the times we are living in, too afraid of what the truth will mean for their cozy living. Some are too ingrained into the system, too dependant to dare become a burden to the hands that feed them. Like ticks they cling to their host and even after their bodies are abused, burnt and removed, their heads remain dug in, feasting on every last bite they can possibly leech from the host. These people are part of the problem.

He that struggles with us strengthens our nerves, and sharpens our skill. Our antagonist is our helper.

Hell, I maybe I am an alarmist. I just want people to wake up. I want them to at least open their eyes enough and understand that there is real cause for alarm in our country. Past actions by our government that started small or oblique and have gone relatively unnoticed have now mounted and the people of this land are starting to feel the long reach of an ever more expanding and tyrannical government that forces its rule over its citizens. Presidents that have all but decimated the concept of separation of power and has resorted to the same imperialist rules of writing and passing laws than those that our forefathers fought to emancipate themselves from .

The increases in unjust taxation we are being forced to pay so that elitist can give themselves luxurious benefits and our unproductive leaders can give themselves raises are starting to take toll on the backs of our citizens. Strict and sometimes useless regulations have burdened our people and have forced a rapid decrease of self sustainability, a drop in the establishment of Small Businesses has almost destroyed the concept of small town living and are forcing our neighbors to buy their goods from corporations and conglomerates instead of each other. Regulations forcing it’s citizens hands into private markets with fraudulent claims of mass economic and sociological prosperity, yet only some benefit from these programs and the rest are forced to pay for them. These Regulations have little to do with macroeconomics or healthier living and more to do with the expanding of government and power. The constant threat of pandemics and deliberatly causing hate amongst each other has all contibuted to the power grab. These scare tactics and power grabs that has expanded the need for governments and corporations around the world has left its debris upon its lands and this debris is catching fire!

The worlds citizens, including those who awoke late in America are starting to see. Rogue nations seeking Nuclear power. Communist countries threatening nuclear war. Economic and Environmental breakdown. Government corruption. Excessive force on anybody who dares to stand up to those in power. The citizens of nations are starting to become restless, and we are seeing this restlessness lash out at the "system". Confusion , Fear and Ignorance are making people revolt against themselves and each other. They are in a state of radioactivity and are ready to explode!

People are arming themselves and joining together to form militias and are starting to protect one another from the government agencies attempting to take what is not theirs!

Protestors are begining to turn to civil disobediance when they feel their voices are not being heard! Mass marches against over regulation and taxation! Riots against those who are abusers of civil rights! Spiritual enlightenment and revolutions of the mind are awakening many to that which is wrong in the world! This isn't imagination! This isn't exageration! This is real and it's there for you to see, if you allow yourself to see it!

A well regulated militia, composed of the body of the people, trained in arms, is the best most natural defense of a free country.

A revolution on a global scale is ready to take place once the people of the world unanimously decide who or what is really to blame and we will finally get to see the REAL Change on a global scale.
