The natural order in the universe is chaotic. Destruction, Creation, Destruction.
If, in fact, we are created of the universe, then aren't humans just living by their natural order when they are being destructive and if the natural order is chaos and destruction, then why do humans care so much about being good and peaceful?
Even at the universe's most dormant moments, there is still a constant bombardment of radiation flowing through every inch of space. So in this constant chaotic universe, where does the concept of peace come from?
freedom from disturbance; quiet and tranquility.
synonyms:tranquility, calm, restfulness, peace and quiet, peacefulness, quiet, quietness; Mor
2.freedom from or the cessation of war or violence.
How and why do we know of peace? If the universe is constant chaos, why should we be peaceful? Is peace then only a human creation and if humans created the concept of peace, what was the purpose? Control?
"People sleep peaceably in their beds at night only because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf." George Orwell
Sometimes, it feels as if the more humans quest for peace the more chaotic things seem to get. We've been trying for generations to make everybody equal in the name of peace but with that effort more hate and violence occurs. Chastising for those who do not conform to the concept of equality and violence from those who feel they are not being treated as equals.
"Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution inevitable. " John F. Kennedy
In Christianity, Catholicism, Judaism and other religions across the world, Peace is kept only by the threat of Damnation. They offer peace and salvation but only if you follow their ways to it and for those who choose not to? Pain, Fire, Brimstone and an eternity of repent.
In Buddhism the soul is made to be reborn over and over again, each form depending on their actions of their previous life, until it reaches a point of ultimate enlightenment. Only then will it be set free. I am in the belief that all religions have a piece of the puzzle that will unlock the ultimate truth of our existence. It is possible that this truth is less in the writings in their books and more in the way they attempt to reach its version of peace and maybe this truth is only that the natural order in the universe is the infinite struggle of trying to make an animate force dormant.
"As we grow in our consciousness, there will be more compassion and more love, and then the barriers between people, between religions, between nations will begin to fall. Yes, we have to beat down the separateness." Ram Dass
Governments invade, conquer, form allegiances, plot, lie, destroy , ruin lives, separate families and murder all in the name of peace. In our Democratic System, almost every year there are people campaigning to offer their constituents their versions of peace. They chastise, slander and vilify their opponents in order to reach the targeted positions of power so that their versions of peace can be enforced on their citizens. For those who do not agree with their rulers perceptions? Arrest, Fines, Incarceration. In foreign lands, allegiances are made between Governments to wage war, to topple rival governments, to enslave, indoctrinate or eradicate all for their quest for peace.
Millions of soldiers, rebels, freedom fighters and holy warriors are dispatched to their demise so that their countries, their friends and their families can have a couple years of peace and their beliefs of peace only invoked by the perceptions of those in control. I am not an anarchist, or am I blind obedient of the government. I believe some rule is in order to propel humanity to it's next level of existence. I believe in Freedom but fear our perceptions of how this freedom is obtained.
"Speak softly and carry a big stick; you will go far". Theodore Roosevelt
Maybe our purpose in this universe is, in fact, the struggle? Maybe we are the warriors. Maybe we were sent off onto this planet to attempt to find the means to ultimate peace. Carl Sagan once said that " The Cosmos are within us; We're made of start stuff. We are a way for the cosmos to know it'self."
Is it possible that the universe was tired of it's infinite chaos? Is it possible that the universe created this planet and humans to deliver itself from its burdens? Maybe violence is an inevitable but necessary occurrence, a catalyst needed in order to evolve humanity, the world and the Universe itself. Evolution has always been a defense mechanism so if we no longer have a need to defend ourselves, evolution stops. I do not think humans are done evolving. I believe that the next stages of human evolution will be one of the mind and like most evolution it will require a catalyst, A period of extremely chaotic and violent opposition, forcing us to evolve or be left behind. I think that this evolution towards peace is not only achievable by our kind but it is destined by the universe to be achieved.
I've heard often people ask the question " why has humanity been allowed to live for so long if all they have to offer is hate and violence?" I have always thought that these biblical natural catastrophes were a response from the universe when it felt their creations were getting their purpose wrong. History has shown these events as naturally occurring, Floods, Storms, Plagues, Famines. I suppose that there is possibility however that the reason humanity has not been wiped out completely is because we are heading in the right direction. We are being allowed to continue. We must continue. Struggle and Chaos will keep being put on our paths until we finally learn to live in peace with everything and everyone. To achieve this, I believe each of us need to find peace in ourselves so that the universe can finally find peace in itself.
