Partisanship and Hypocrisy
The Transcript below is Joe Biden doing exactly the same thing that Democrats have Impeached Donald Trump on. Why did Joe want the Prosecutor fired? Well, It could be debated that Joe wanted him fired because he was corrupt and deserved to be fired. I could also be debated that Joe wanted him fired because the prosecutor was looking into work done by his son, Hunter Biden. What can not be debated is that former Vice President Joe Biden, with the knowledge (presumably)of President Obama deliberately attempted to withhold Billions of Dollars of Foreign Aide to a country, if it's representatives did not yield to the demands of VP Joe and President Obama. Ukraine Yielded. Just as one can claim that the Obama Administration were only rooting out corruption in Ukraine(Like Trump can claim) Others can claim that because the prosecutor was investigating dealing that Included the VPs son, there was a definite personal interest involved in the decision to withhold Aide( Just like in Trump's case) Can both be true? Yes ( Just like in the Trump case). Should the president be Impeached for this? well...

“I had gotten,” he added, “a commitment from [President] Poroshenko and from [Prime Minister] Yatsenyuk that they would take action against the state prosecutor. And they didn’t.
So they said they were walking out to a press conference. I said, nah, I’m not going to — or, we’re not going to give you the billion dollars. They said, ‘you have no authority. You’re not the president.’”
“The president said — I said, call him,” Mr. Biden replied
I said, ‘I’m telling you, you’re not getting the billion dollars.’ I said, ‘You’re not getting the billion. I’m going to be leaving here in six hours. If the prosecutor is not fired, you’re not getting the money.’ Well, son of a bitch. [Laughter.] He got fired. And they put in place someone who was solid at the time.”
I believe that this is what Dershowitz was attempting to say when he said that using this kind of offense as a reason to Impeach a president is a "Dangerous hole to go down". In my opinion, If you were to believe that this type of dealing does not happen often and in every administration, then you are dangerously naive or indoctrinated. I don't however think that the best defense for Donald Trump and his team was to deny the obvious Quid Pro Quo. I think the best defense was exactly what Dershiwitz attempted to do, and that was to point out the hypocrisy of the prosecutors, the thin line being used to Impeach Trump, and the dangerous door they would leave open for future administrations, if this type of offense was allowed to be used to remove a President from office.
Remember, in regards to the Government, Opened Doors are damn near impossible to close. Some Democrats actually understand this and some are actually considering voting across party lines to acquit the President.
As per usual, if the new line is drawn and The removal of the President is allowed under these terms, then I expect the line to be applied to every administration from here on out. The biggest problem I usually have with these types of cases is the Partisanship and Hypocrisies of the accusations and accusers, and the different lines being drawn for different people. It is unfortunate that most of the public stay deliberately ignorant on politics, until that is, it's not "My Guy" in office
